The Luskin Conference Center and Hotel is an exceptional place to stay when in Los Angeles. The staff bends over backwards to be helpful and they all provide exceptional and very cheery service. The Luskin is also tip free which is quite astonishing and appreciated. Its location is right on the middle of the UCLA campus and is convenient to everything on the west side of L.A. the hotel is spotless and quiet and the food at Plateia, the restaurant, is as outstanding as it is unique. We were dining with a friend who is 101+ and rather hard of hearing. Graham, the restaurant manager, spontaneously moved us into a private dining room so conversations would be easier to hear without the hub BTB and noise of a busy dining room. The courtyard, right outside the lobby and adjacent to the dining room, is fabulous and a great place to eat in nice weather.

We did not get downstairs in time for breakfast, so I cannot comment on the restaurant. The hotel itself is beautifully located on campus, which enabled us to walk to our evening event at Royce Hall. Check-in was a breeze and the room was very clean and comfortable. A significant contributor to our stay was the outstanding service provided by staff member Joseph who greeted us when we drove up and escorted my wife and luggage up to the room while I parked the car downstairs. Later Joseph provided us a campus map so we could find Royce Hall. He was on duty again the following morning to direct us to a nearby cafe and then, following check-out, with getting our luggage down to the car and sending us off. All this without a tip because the staff members belong to a union, so no tipping is allowed. We were sorry to leave this hotel!

I attended UCLA from 1988 to 1991 as a continuing education student going to evening courses while working at Paramount Pictures. My husband and I came back to tour UCLA, become more knowledgeable about the new medical facilities and also attend AFI Lifetime Award for Francis Coppola. So we truly enjoyed being “on campus” especially as aging adults who enjoy learning more about high quality health. We would attend seminars on aging for UCLA former students and graduates. And hope we might be invited to join any seminars for staying healthy.

Beautiful center. The setting, decor, facilities and amenities were all top-notch. The bed was quite comfortable and I slept well. I had a meal at the restaurant that was outstanding, as was the room service meal that I also enjoyed. The bathroom was lovely and had a very good collection of quality guest toiletries. I was attending a graduation on campus at UCLA and was easily able to walk to the location from the hotel. It was quite pricey but I felt that the quality of the experience was worth the price.

Location : Right at the front entrance of UCLA. Walking distance (10 min) to the main street, where the shops and restaurants are. The neighborhood feels safe and vibrant. Its proximity to The Getty Center (10 min drive) is an added bonus. Service : Staff are always helpful (no gratuity needed at the restaurant) Deco & Amenities : Very modern, clean and comes with everything you need. Breakfast : There is an a-la-carte restaurant on the 1st floor. Price is very reasonable and food is nice.
